Brand Story
St. Laurence, a deacon in Rome around AD 200, distributed the Church's wealth to the poor after Pope St. Sixtus II's execution. The Prefect of Rome, thinking the Church had hidden treasures, demanded them. Laurence gathered the poor, calling them the Church's true treasure. Enraged, the Prefect had Laurence roasted alive on a grill, where Laurence, filled with joy, famously quipped, 'Turn me over, I am cooked on this side'.
